Mithali Raj: We think it was a decent total after losing a wicket in the first couple of overs. Maybe we could have scored few more runs in the middle overs, but thought 227 was a decent total. The bowlers could have done a better job of defending it. Initially the wicket was gripping a bit and the Australian bowlers bowled well. Since I have had a long career it is a part of it, I have not considered breaking the record. I am not very happy with the record as we did not win today. I think it is a do-or-die game for New Zealand as well. If we have to qualify, we have to upgrade our playing standards.
Meg Lanning, Player of the Match: We do enjoy batting together. We take the pressure off each other and it is nice to have her (Perry) coming out there. The shoulder is going okay. The management is looking after it. We need to go out there and win against a really tough opponent – South Africa. We did realize that the wicket was a bit slow than the ones we have played before. We backed the side that played against England and we do have options on the sidelines. But I guess the team that played today is the blueprint going forward. There was no easy games coming in to the tournament. There are a few areas to improve if we have to go all the way. We have come into the World Cup looking to win it and that is our motivation.
