AIUDF MLA Rafiqul Islam, criticising the BJP over the matter, said, “The BJP got Nitish Kumar to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha yesterday. Now Nitish Kumar will go to Delhi and sit in the Rajya Sabha.”

He alleged that the BJP has snatched Bihar from the hands of JD(U).

“This is the character of the BJP... I think the Chief Minister will be from the BJP now... JD(U) leaders should think about this..." he added while speaking to ANI.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections on 5 March and announced his wish to become a member of the Rajya Sabha the same day.
