PWL 2026: Antim Panghal Becomes Most Expensive Indian Wrestler with Rs 52 Lakh Bid
Arjuna Awardee wrestler Antim Panghal has created history with her remarkable milestone of becoming the costliest Indian player in the Pro Wrestling League (PWL).
According to the report, the 21-year-old from Hisar was acquired by the UP Dominators for a staggering INR 52 lakh during the player auction held recently in New Delhi.
Antim has been selected to compete in the 53-kg weight category. The league was kicked off in Noida on January 15 and will conclude on February 1. It features around 300 registered wrestlers and six franchise teams.
Her father, Ramniwas Panghal, shared that Antim began training at a local akhara in Bhagana Village 10 years ago and has consistently proved her potential on the international stage. He added that she is currently preparing for the Olympics with dreams of a gold medal for India.
Among other Hisar-based wrestlers securing notable bids are Jyoti Berwal (76 kg), who was bought for INR 15 lakh by the Tiger of Mumbai Danglers, and Rajnita (59 kg) and Raunak Gulia, who were picked up by the Punjab Royals.
While Antim topped the Indian bids, Japanese world champion Yui Susaki set the overall all-time PWL record, purchased for INR 60 lakh by the Haryana Thunders. A total of 63 wrestlers were selected to compete in this edition of the league.
