Gurpreet Singh Kangar has been called for questioning on May 31

MOHALI: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has summoned two former ministers in connection with the disproportionate assets case. Senior officials of the bureau said that former Congress minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar has been called for questioning on May 31. Kangar had been called by the Bureau earlier but Kangar had argued that he could not come to the Vigilance Bureau due to health reasons. The Vigilance Bureau has also summoned former Congress minister and current BJP leader Balbir Singh Sidhu on June 2.

The top officials of the bureau said that the Vigilance Bureau has collected some records of these former ministers in the disproportionate assets case. Both the former ministers are directed to present their property documents before the Vigilance Bureau. These documents will be checked by vigilance. Officials said that the Vigilance Bureau has given proforma to both of them.

The Vigilance Bureau has intensified the campaign against corruption in the state. The Vigilance Bureau is engaged in summoning various leaders in this regard. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was also given a proforma in which details of his assets were sought from him. It is being said that Charanjit Singh Channi is also likely to be called by the Vigilance Bureau in the month of June. He has appeared before the vigilance authorities once.
