Smuggler Hid Gold in Private Parts

AMRITSAR: In a major breakthrough, the Customs Department successfully foiled a gold smuggling racket at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport, leading to the recovery of gold worth Rs 49 lakhs. One suspect has been apprehended and is currently under interrogation.

The suspect, who had recently returned from Dubai, ingeniously concealed the gold in the form of a paste within his private parts to evade detection even in the body scanner during customs checking. Acting on a tip-off, the Customs Department swiftly moved to apprehend the alleged smuggler.

During rigorous questioning, the accused eventually confessed to carrying three capsules of gold paste concealed in his private parts. Subsequently, officials took him into custody for further investigation.

Upon recovering the gold paste from the suspect's private parts, authorities found it weighed approximately 1.183 kilograms. The recovered gold paste was then processed into pure gold, amounting to a total weight of 844.80 grams. At the current international price, the seized gold is valued at ?49.94 lakhs.

The Customs Department is leaving no stone unturned in their investigation, and the suspect is being thoroughly interrogated to uncover any potential links to a broader smuggling network. Officials believe that busting this racket may lead to further revelations and help dismantle the illegal operation.
