Tri-city -check weather updates for March 17, 2025, Heatwave starting today, Latest News: The temperature in the state has reached up to 41.9°C. In the last 24 hours, the temperature has increased by 1.2°C, which is 6.2°C higher than usual. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature is expected to rise by 2 to 4°C in the next two to three days.

The season’s first heatwave conditions are starting today in Punjab and will continue for the next two days. The IMD has issued yellow alerts for a heatwave in Punjab on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You are advised to take caution when outdoors. Avoid spending extended periods of time outside and stay hydrated.

However, a western disturbance will become active starting today, which will affect the weather in areas near the Himalayas and bring the possibility of some rain towards the weekend, providing some relief from the heat. This relief will be short-lived, and temperatures are predicted to soar again afterward.

In addition to the heatwave, the IMD has also issued warnings for thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls in Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda, and Mansa on April 11, 2025.

On April 12, 2025, Gurdaspur will be the only district where the IMD has issued a heatwave warning for that date.

Weather Update MOhali: Today, April 8, 2025, will experience a hazy sunshine with unseasonably hot conditions. The minimum temperature will be 16°C, and the maximum will reach 31°C. The wind speed will be around 15 km/h, with gusts up to 50 km/h.
