Jalandhar: Adampur Airport in Jalandhar has been renamed Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji Airport on the occasion of the 649th birth anniversary (Prakash Purab) of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally announced the renaming after arriving in Jalandhar to participate in the celebrations.
Sharing a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “It is a matter of immense honour and pride that today, on the auspicious occasion of Sant Ravidass Jayanti, it has been decided that the Adampur Airport will henceforth be known as Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji Airport.”
PM Modi said the decision marked a joyous moment for countless people and served as a fitting tribute to the timeless ideals of Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji.
“His message of equality, compassion and service continues to inspire us all,” he added.

The Prime Minister also virtually inaugurated the terminal of Ludhiana’s Halwara Airport.
Following this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Dera Sachkhand Ballan to pay obeisance. There, he met Sant Niranjan Dass, partook in langar, and addressed the gathering.
