COVID-19: Corona Creating Havoc in Punjab, Logs 159 New Cases

Corona has hit 17 out of 23 districts in Punjab

MOHALI: Engulfing Punjab in its grip, Coronavirus is creating havoc in the state. 159 Fresh Coronavirus cases have been tested positive in the state. The health department had sent 4301 samples from different districts of the state for testing. Out of these 3835 samples were tested. On April 7, 111 new cases have been reported positive from the state.

According to the data obtained from the health department, 12 corona victims are on oxygen support in different government and private hospitals of the state. Out of these 12 patients are of level-2 while 4 patients are of level-3. However, so far no corona victim in the state is in critical condition. Corona has hit 17 out of 23 districts in Punjab. The number of patients is increasing continuously in Mohali, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. As the number of patients is increasing, Mohali is going to become a hot spot. In Mohali, 177 samples were sent for testing and 51 of them have recorded to be positive.

Notably, Jalandhar ranks second in Punjab in corona cases. In Jalandhar, 357 samples were sent for testing. The result of 18 of them has been found positive. 834 samples were sent from Ludhiana for testing, out of which 15 have been found positive. In Fatehgarh Sahib, 10 out of 166 samples have been identified as positive.
