Celebrated singers Sukhwinder Singh and Hans Raj Hans, along with Kashmiri rapper Baabarr Mudacer, will lead the 2026 edition of ‘Jahan-e-Khusrau’, the globally recognised World Sufi Music Festival, beginning March 27 in New Delhi.

The three-day event will be held at the historic Purana Qila and is curated by filmmaker and artist Muzaffar Ali. The festival will bring together prominent performers from across the subcontinent to honour Sufi music, poetry and spiritual traditions.

Muzaffar Ali said the festival was inspired by the teachings of saints and mystics, adding that it has evolved into a space where music, poetry and devotion highlight shared cultural roots. He described it as more than a festival, calling it an ongoing spiritual journey. Ali is known for directing films such as “Umrao Jaan”, “Gaman” and “Jaanisaar”.

Apart from the main performers, the line-up will include artistes such as Jasu Khan Manganiyar, Deveshi Sehgal, Shivani Verma and Sanjukta Sinha.

The event will also host TEH Bazaar (The Exploration of the Handmade), an exhibition showcasing Indian handicrafts and heritage art forms. Literary sessions, cultural talks and film screenings focused on mystic traditions are also part of the programme, along with a specially curated Sufi-themed culinary experience.

Co-curator Meera Ali described Jahan-e-Khusrau as a cultural movement. Founded over 30 years ago, the festival celebrates poets like Rumi, Amir Khusrau, Baba Bulleh Shah and Lalleshwari. The event concludes on March 29.
