Tehran Police Rescue Three Punjabi Youth Abducted in Visa Scam latest news: Tehran Police have successfully rescued three Punjabi youth who were reportedly abducted in Iran after falling victim to a visa scam. Delhi Cabinet Minister and BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed the rescue.
The trio—Jaspal Singh, Sampreet Singh, and Amritpal Singh—were allegedly trapped in a scam run by a travel agent from Punjab. They were promised Australian visas at the cost of Rs 18 lakh per visa. However, instead of Australia, they ended up in Iran, where they were kidnapped. The Indian Embassy in Tehran has confirmed the abduction.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed the rescue, stating, “Jaspal Singh, Sampreet Singh & Amritpal Singh — the 3 Punjabi youth trapped in Iran — have been rescued by Tehran Police.”
He further added,“Grateful to EAM Dr. @DrSJaishankar ji, Indian Embassy & Ambassador Shri Rudra Gaurav Shreshth Ji for swift and decisive intervention. The agent who endangered their lives must be arrested and made an example of — such crimes against our youth cannot be tolerated.”
Earlier, on May 28, speaking about the incident, Sirsa had said, “This isn’t just a personal tragedy for their families… it’s a harsh reflection of the failure of the Punjab Government, under CM Bhagwant Mann, to crack down on the rampant fraud by con travel agents that continues to endanger the lives and dreams of our youth.”
