According to an official statement, the accused has been found associated with PIO (Pakistan Intelligence Operative) Shakir, also known as Jutt Randhawa—reportedly a member of a terror-backed espionage ring. He is also accused of maintaining close contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was earlier arrested for spying.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), wrote, “Acting swiftly, the State Special Operations Cell, Mohali has unearthed a critical espionage network linked to Jasbir Singh, a resident of village Mahlan, Rupnagar.”

As per police, Jasbir Singh runs a YouTube channel named Jaan Mahal.

During the investigation, it was found that he had direct links with PIO Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, and maintained regular contact with Jyoti Malhotra and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish—a Pakistani national and expelled official from the Pakistan High Commission.

DGP Yadav further stated, “Investigations have revealed that Jasbir Singh attended the Pakistan National Day event in Delhi on Danish’s invitation, where he met Pakistani Army officials and vloggers. He also travelled to Pakistan on three occasions—in 2020, 2021, and 2024. His electronic devices contain multiple Pakistan-based contacts, which are currently under detailed forensic scrutiny.”

Following the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra, Jasbir Singh allegedly attempted to erase all traces of his communications with PIOs to evade detection, according to the police statement.

An FIR has been registered at the SSOC police station in Mohali. Investigations are ongoing to dismantle the wider ‘espionage-terror network’ and identify all associates and collaborators involved.
