Raghav Chadha News: Prominent politicians such as Congress's Shashi Tharoor, TMC's Mahua Moitra, & several others reported receiving alerts

Raghav Chadha Latest News: In a startling revelation, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha came forward with claims of receiving "threat notifications" from Apple, cautioning him about potential state-sponsored spyware attacks on their iPhones. The development has stirred concerns over potential government hacking efforts.

A group of leading Indian politicians, such as Congress's Shashi Tharoor, AAP's Raghav Chadha, TMC's Mahua Moitra, have reported receiving these alerts. This has become a matter of concern. The notifications have raised alarms about the security and privacy of political leaders in the country.

AAP's Raghav Chadha, who also received a notification, compared the situation to the Pegasus spyware scandal, which targeted voices critical of the ruling party. He expressed his concern, stating that the timing of these events, merely months before a General Election, is suspicious and needs to be viewed in the context of broader attacks on opposition figures, who are facing relentless investigations, politically motivated legal cases, and incarceration.

Chadha argued that these actions not only affect individuals or opposition parties but the common people of India, highlighting the broader implications of such surveillance. He urged every Indian to be vigilant, as the targeting may extend beyond his phone and data alone.

TMC Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra, who is currently under scrutiny by the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee over a cash-for-query issue in Parliament, alleged that the government was attempting to hack into her phone. She also asserted that similar activities were directed at several other politicians, including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, AAP leader Raghav Chadha, CPM leader Sitaram Yechury, and Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Pawan Khera, as well as staff associated with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

The Notifications received by these politicians from Apple raised concerns of "state-sponsored attackers" attempting to compromise their iPhones remotely. These attackers are believed to be targeting individuals based on their identity and activities. While the alerts could potentially be false alarms, they emphasize the importance of taking the warning seriously.

Apple, in its official statement, clarified that "threat notifications" are designed to inform and assist users who may have been targeted by state-sponsored attackers. The notifications aim to notify users who are individually targeted based on their identity or activities. It is essential to note that a vast majority of users will not be the targets of such attacks. When Apple identifies activity consistent with a state-sponsored attack, it promptly notifies the affected users.

The claims of these politicians receiving threat notifications have raised questions about the use of spyware and surveillance against public figures, sparking concerns about privacy and security in the political arena.
