A majority of women professionals in India believe pay parity exists at their workplaces, though a significant section still reports disparities, according to a Naukri.com report released on Saturday. The findings are based on responses from 50,000 women across more than 50 industries.

The survey found that 67 percent of respondents feel men and women are paid equally in their organisations, while 33 percent believe a pay gap still exists.

The report also highlights workplace concerns beyond salaries. Nearly half of the women surveyed said they hesitate to discuss personal plans during job interviews. Around 34 percent cited fear of discrimination as the main reason.

  • FMCG: 38 percent
  • Pharma and life sciences: 38 percent
  • Automobile sector: 37 percent

Other industries where women reported wage inequality include retail, hospitality, IT services, telecom, healthcare, and oil and gas, where 33–35 percent respondents said pay differences exist.
