Noida International Airport in Jewar Gets DGCA License, Ready for Commercial Flights
The Noida International Airport in Jewar has received the aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), allowing commercial flight operations. This certification confirms that the airport meets safety, infrastructure, and operational standards required for airline services.
Developed under a public-private partnership by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, the project is jointly supported by the Uttar Pradesh and central governments. It is poised to address growing passenger demand in northern India and reduce pressure on existing Delhi airports.
In its initial phase, the airport will operate with one runway and a terminal designed to handle approximately 1.2 crore passengers annually. Upon full completion, the facility is expected to manage up to seven crore passengers each year, positioning it as a major aviation hub in the region.
This approval marks a significant milestone for the Noida International Airport project and paves the way for operational readiness in the region.
