Strong Women, Strong Nation Theme Takes Center Stage at Fit India Carnival on International Women’s Day

Over 500 women from India’s armed and paramilitary forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Delhi Police, are participating in a three-day International Women’s Day carnival at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.


The event, organized under the Fit India Movement, began on Saturday and coincides with International Women’s Day on March 8. The carnival follows the theme “Strong Women, Strong Nation” and aims to highlight women’s strength, resilience, and leadership through fitness activities and sports.

Prominent personalities attended the opening ceremony and shared their views on fitness, health, and women empowerment. Participants included Paralympic medalist and Arjuna awardee Preeti Paul, nutritionist Nidhi Nigam, entrepreneur Tanvi Tutlani, fitness coach Yukti Arya, meditation specialist Nivedita Shreyans, yoga expert Divya Ahuja, physiotherapist Garima Biswas, and Fit India champion Timsy Becker.

Preeti Paul addressed the audience, recalling how she faced skepticism early in her sports career. She explained that she turned criticism into motivation and encouraged women to remain confident, pursue their goals, and never let others define their potential.

The program reflects an effort to inspire women from diverse professional and security backgrounds to embrace resilience, strength, and personal growth while celebrating their achievements.
