Exquisite Bengali delicacies including 'pur pora bhekti', 'chicken dak bangla', 'kosha mangsho' and many more are up for grabs at an ongoing food festival here. 'Amar Shonar Bangla' is part of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group's 'Chef's Pop-Up' campaign, a unique culinary exchange program that seeks to take the regional cuisines of one Indian city to another. The Delhi leg of the campaign is celebrating the many gastronomical flavors of the city of joy at The Lalit here.

Chef Madhumita Mohanta of The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata has curated an extravagant platter of almost forgotten cuisines of erstwhile Bengal to tantalise the Delhi taste buds. "This festival is a celebration of a bygone era and I am serving dishes from both East and West Bengal. It is a celebration of oneness," Chef Mohanta said.

One can begin the sumptuous festival with a 'gondhoraj mangsher chop' (crumb fried lamb croquets scented with lime) or 'peyaj postor bora' (pan-fried poppy seed and onion patty), and move on to main course delectables like 'dhoka' (deep fried Bengal gram cake simmered in tomato and garam masala gravy), 'elish barishali' (Hilsa cooked in mustard and coconut gravy) and 'chingri mali curry' (prawns simmered in coconut milk and local spices). End the meal with 'Rajbhog' (stuffed cottage cheese dumpling simmered in light sugar syrup) and the iconic 'mishti doi'. The festival that began on June 20 will come to a close on June 30.
