“I Will Sacrifice My Life for the Country”: Dhankhar Responds to No-Confidence Motion

The no-confidence motion, filed by the INDIA alliance on December 10, has sparked controversy.

New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned until December 16 after a fierce exchange between Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge over the no-confidence motion filed against Dhankhar.

In an impassioned defense, Dhankhar stated, “I will sacrifice my life for the country” in response to the opposition’s criticism, accusing them of insulting the Constitution. He also stressed that he would not show weakness despite being targeted by the opposition.

Kharge, in his reply, emphasized that the opposition was not there to listen to Dhankhar's praises but to engage in meaningful discussions.

The no-confidence motion, filed by the INDIA alliance on December 10, has sparked controversy, with the opposition claiming it is necessary to safeguard democracy and the Constitution.
