Rajasthan Assembly Elections Result 2023: BJP Takes Commanding Lead in Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023, Congress Trails Behind

Rajasthan Assembly Elections Result 2023: Rajasthan is all set to see who is going to rule the state for the next five years. The fate of candidates in 199 of the 200 Assembly constituencies was sealed on November 25. In Rajasthan, the key battle is between the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the same was shown in exit polls as well. The counting of votes commenced at 8:00 am today, encompassing 199 Assembly constituencies.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is confident that Congress will change the tradition of change of power. However, the BJP is of faith that it will form the government when the results are declared. People in Rajasthan have been following the trend of 'change in power' but this year, the contest is being considered as a semifinal of the big clash i.e. Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Rajasthan Assembly Elections Result 2023: Total number of candidates

Rajasthan assembly will get 199 of its 200 MLAs. A total of 1,862 candidates are in the fray this year while a total of 5,26,90,146 people were eligible to vote in this year's polls.

In 2018, the Congress party won 100 seats as compared to BJP's 73. Back then, the party's veteran Ashok Gehlot was sworn in as the state chief minister for the third time. Earlier in 2013, the BJP had secured a majority with 163 seats, with Vasundhara Raje leading from the front as the chief minister. Back then, Congress' strength was reduced to only 21 seats.

Just like the last few decades, there has been a direct competition between the BJP party and the grand old Congress party in Rajasthan. The two parties have been closely monitoring political developments in Rajasthan.
