The rates of petrol and diesel in Punjab witnessed a slight hike amids the farmers' protest at Punjab and Haryana

Petrol and Diesel prices in Punjab: The rates of petrol and diesel in Punjab witnessed a slight hike amids the farmers' protest at Punjab and Haryana's border points. In Punjab, the petrol prices are at Rs 98.29 while the diesel is also being sold at Rs 88.95 per liter. 

In Haryana's Sonepat district, petrol has gone up by 29 paise to Rs 97.1 per liter and diesel by 28 paise to Rs 89.99 per litre.

Recently, the cost of oil witnessed change in Punjab and Haryana, while at the same time, many farmers from these areas traveled to Delhi to protest. 

With lots of farmers and their supporters heading to Delhi, there's a bigger demand for fuel for their vehicles and thus, the experts believe that the higher demand for fuel could be one reason why oil prices are changing in Punjab and Haryana.
