The lawyer of the complainant, Vivek Nandwana, said that social worker Inder Mohan Singh Hani had presented the complaint, citing that youngsters take the Bollywood stars as their role models. The complainant says that the actors are cheating the youth by promoting a product which states on its label that it has saffron but actually contains none, and is sold at around Rs 4 lakh per kilogram.

The complainant contends that Vimal Pan Masala has failed to produce any tangible evidence in favor of its claims. Moreover, the warnings on the product are in such minute font that they are almost unreadable.

The petitioner has asked for an urgent prohibition of the false advertisement and has also requested imposition of a fine on the actors and the company. It has been sought that the amount of the fine be credited to the Youth Welfare Fund of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. To the complaint, the chairman of the commission, Anurag Gautam, and member Virender Singh Rawat have issued notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, and the Vimal Pan Masala manufacturer to appear in the consumer court on February 21, 2025.
