Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has initiated a comprehensive membership drive, aiming to enroll 25 lakh new members over a month starting January 25.
To oversee this initiative, the party's working committee formed a 25-member supervisory panel, which includes Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali. However, Ayali has expressed reservations about participating without guidance from the Akal Takht, the supreme temporal authority of Sikhs.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to the Akal Takht's December 2 edict and sought clarity on his role within the committee. Ayali stated he would consult the Akal Takht Jathedar before proceeding, underscoring his commitment to aligning party activities with Sikh principles.
