Additionally, an emergency has been enforced at PIMS on the directives of the Executive Director (ED).
The main emergency, orthopaedic, burn centre, and neurology departments have been activated, a spokesperson confirmed the news outlet.
The injured are being rushed to nearby hospitals.
According to sources, the incident occurred during Friday Namaz at the mosque. Visuals from the scene showed dozens of people lying on the floor inside the mosque, appearing to have been severely injured in the blast.
According to Hindustan Times, at least 10 people have been killed, and the blast ripped through the religious centre of the minority Shia community during the Friday prayers.
The incident comes nearly three months after a suicide blast outside a district and sessions court building in Islamabad’s G-11 area on November 11, 2025, which killed 12 people and injured over 30 others.
This is a developing story. Further updates will follow.
