The Delhi government on Friday took cognizance of an incident in which a bike rider lost his life after falling into a deep pit dug by the Delhi Jal Board for repair work in AC-30, Janakpuri (Joginder Singh Marg).

The Chief Secretary (PWD), CEO of the Delhi Jal Board, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Joint Commissioner of Police (Western Range), District Magistrate (West District) of the Revenue Department, Deputy Commissioner (West) of the MCD, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), West District, Chief Engineer (PWD), and Chief Engineer (DJB) have been requested to attend the inspection.

The bike rider has been identified as Kamal Dhyan, whose body was found lying next to his Apache RTR 200 motorcycle at the bottom of the pit.

The victim was wearing a helmet, riding jacket, and gloves at the time of the incident.

He worked as an Assistant Manager at HDFC Bank’s Rohini branch. According to a report by NDTV, his family said the incident occurred while he was returning home late Wednesday night. He had informed his twin brother, Karan, that he would reach home within 10 minutes.
