Munish Nagar: The world fastest runner Usain Bolt lost to Justin Gatlin in his last 100 metres race and attained third position. However, it was a great race in the history of World Championship as the chase for Gatlin was not easy one.
The entire media was watching the Bolt’s last race as he had announced earlier that he would retire after the event. In the last few seconds, Gatlin stole the show but the winner honored Bolt after the victory.
Gatlin bowed to Bolt to honor the great Bolt. US athlete Gatlin, 35 year old successfully stole the show by defeating Bolt who is five years younger to him in last 100 meters final.
However, he showed his respect to the Jamaican star and bowed to him after the event. It’s a great honor when a champion honors a champion. When Indian cricket team won the cricket world cup in 1983, the cricket fans were running towards the West Indian players to get their autographs. A fan came to Sir Garry Sobers and asked him for the autograph. Sobers politely told the fan, “Today’s India’s day.”
The US athlete has not won the race but he won the hearts by paying respect to the retiring athlete.
