Star Players Babar Azam & Iftikhar Ahmed Scored Impressive Centuries

MULTAN: Pakistan made an explosive entry into the Asia Cup tournament on Wednesday, August 30, clinching a resounding victory over Nepal by a whopping 238-run margin. The triumph marks Pakistan's most significant win in the competition's history, demonstrating their cricket prowess.

Winning the toss and opting to bat, World No.1 Pakistan amassed a commanding total of 342 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. The team's batting prowess was on full display, with star players Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed showcasing their remarkable skills by both scoring impressive centuries.

Notably, The stage was set for Nepal to chase down the target, but their batting lineup faced an early setback as Shaheen Afridi struck in the very first over of the innings. Struggling to establish a solid foundation, Nepal saw three of their players returning to the pavilion with only 14 runs on the scoreboard. Despite determined efforts by Arif Sheikh and Sompal Kami, Nepal couldn't sustain a robust partnership against Pakistan's skillful bowling attack.

Nepal's batsmen struggled to make headway against the Pakistani bowlers, and their innings eventually concluded at 104 runs for the loss of all wickets in 23.4 overs. Sompal Kami's valiant effort of 28 runs off 46 balls emerged as the standout performance for Nepal, highlighting the challenges posed by Pakistan's bowlers.
