Rythm Sangwan failed to make it to the Top 8. 

India at Paris Olympics 2024: The official Day 1 of the Paris Olympics 2024 started on Saturday with the Shooting contingent opening up India's campaign, a day after the memorable opening ceremony. While shooters like Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema, Ramita Jindal, and Sandeep Singh among the others failed to qualify for finals on Day 1, Manu Bhaker was the only shooter to have given a hope for medal to India. 

Manu Bhaker claimed the third spot in the qualifications of the individual 10m air pistol event to enter the finals. Likewise, Rythm Sangwan was also a part of this event but failed to make it to the Top 8. 

Earlier in the day,  Indian shooters Ramita Jindal and Arjun Babuta finished 6th in qualifiers while Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh finished 12th in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event crushing hopes of India and both the pairs failed to qualify for medal rounds. 

Likewise, Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema failed to qualify for the final as they finished their run on 9th and 18th spot, respectively.  

On the other hand, Balraj Panwar also failed to qualify directly for the quarterfinals but still has a chance to reach the medal event via a repechage race. Balraj Pawar finished 4th in the men's single sculls heat 1 with a timing of 7:07:11.
