On February 18, 2025 Tuesday, the 42-year-old Manipuri, a 2012 Olympic bronze winner, clarified that she had been misunderstood and that she had not resigned from her position. She affirmed that she would continue her tenure in the panel.
Last week, she attended the closing ceremony of the National Games in Haldwani, where she was placed in an inferior hotel while other athletes were lodged in better accommodations.
When she expressed her dissatisfaction over this partiality, she was misquoted or misunderstood as having resigned from the commission. However, she clarified that she would complete her tenure.
