Pakistan will not play any future ICC matches in India
Indian Flag Not Seen in Karachi Stadium Before ICC Champions Trophy latest news: A video going viral shows the Indian flag missing from the National Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan, one of the venues for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
The ICC Champions Trophy features the top eight cricket teams from around the world, and in the video of Karachi National Stadium, the Indian flag is notably absent.
This is ahead of the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to take place in Pakistan starting from February 19, with Pakistan and New Zealand playing on the opening day.
Earlier, the Indian team had refused to play matches in Pakistan due to safety and security concerns. As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board and ICC decided to shift the tournament to a hybrid model, with all matches—including the semi-final and final, if India qualifies—being played in Dubai. Fans speculate that the absence of the Indian flag from the stadium could be due to the Indian team not playing in Pakistan.
Furthermore, Pakistan will not play any future ICC matches in India, where India will be hosting the tournaments.
The ICC Champions Trophy is returning for the first time since 2017, featuring the top eight ODI teams competing for a grand prize of $2.24 million (USD).
This is not the first time a story of this nature has surfaced. A similar occurrence was reported at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where an event was held ahead of the tournament. Among all the flags displayed, the Indian flag was notably absent.
