Indians are waiting to chant, "India! India! India! India!"

Ind vs NZ, ICC World Cup 2023 Semifinal: The stage is all set for the first semifinal of ICC World Cup 2023. It's India vs New Zealand! The same happened in 2019 but the result was not in favour of India. Whenever it comes to India vs New Zealand and that too in the mega ICC events, Kiwis have always broken hearts of millions. 

In the last four years, both India and New Zealand crossed paths twice in the knockouts of big ICC events. Unfortunately, Men in Blue kept their heads low as they walked back to the pavilion while Kiwis stood tall and enjoyed victories. 

It was in 2019 World Cup when India and New Zealand faced each other in the semifinals. At first, rain played spoilsport and forced the match to enter the reserve day. Indian fans were upset about it as India was dominating that time. However, the table turned on reserve day as New Zealand took over the rein and won the match. Indians were sad to see Captain Cool, MS Dhoni crying on field as not only he missed out on crossing the crease but also the millions of hopes failed to see what he did in 2011. 

Wounds were healing until New Zealand scratched them again as they defeated India in ICC World Test Championship in 2021. It was in white jersey with red ball and Kiwis totally outplayed Indians on the British soil. How can India forget about it? Back then, neither 'Bum-Bum', 'Golden Arms' struck the bails when needed, nor the bat of the top order spoke as they usually do. 

But, it was 2019 and 2021! This is new India, and this is the new Indian cricket team. Moreover, this is a new bowling attack. Although nothing much is new except Siraj is in, it's the enthusiasm and stubbornness of Indian bowlers who are not just bowling deliveries but throwing fireballs at all those who are coming at crease. Neither defending champions England, nor the arch-rivals, be it Australia or Pakistan, have been able to face the heat of Indian bowlers. Even New Zealand were not able to face the same in the league match of ICC World Cup 2023. 

The fans of Indian cricket team are waiting for the invincible, they are waiting for Men in Blue to do incredible in the semis and win the final, bagging the World Cup trophy. India is the first team to go unbeaten in the World Cup round-robin format and Indians would hope for history to be scripted by not only defeating New Zealand in the semis but also winning the trophy after 12 years. Let's cheer India, let's keep the trophy which came home because India is hosting the ICC World Cup 2023. People are waiting to raise their hands, bump their fists and chest, burst crackers and dance to the beats of dhols. Indians are waiting to chant, "India! India! India! India!"
