A tragic case has emerged involving a Punjabi youth, Hardeep Singh, who lost his life a few months ago while attempting to cross the dangerous Panama jungle route during illegal migration. His body remained stranded in Mexico for nearly five months.

According to the family, fake travel agents prepared forged documents and falsely showed him as a resident of Nepal. To send their son abroad, the family sold their land and took loans from relatives. So far, one agent has been arrested, while another is still absconding.

The deceased youth belonged to Samgauli village near Dera Bassi. A wave of mourning has gripped the family and the entire village. This incident once again highlights the deadly risks of illegal migration routes and the growing menace of fake agents preying on innocent families.
