With two gold medals at the country's premier domestic meet, Sidhu's performance stands out as a major highlight of this year's championship
Bhai Shiraz Singh Sidhu has secured two gold medals in the Junior Double Trap events — individual gold and team gold for Punjab at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi.
Sidhu finished as one of the top scorers in the qualification round but was tied with another shooter, forcing the title to be decided in a shoot-off. Under high pressure in the elimination round, Sidhu held his nerve and edged the contest by a narrow margin to clinch the individual gold, earning the honour of being crowned this year’s National Champion in Double Trap.
He then backed up the individual triumph by leading the Punjab team to the top of the podium, playing a decisive role in their team gold victory in the Junior Double Trap category.
With two gold medals at the country’s premier domestic meet, Sidhu’s performance stands out as a major highlight of this year’s championship, reinforcing Punjab’s growing presence in shotgun shooting.
