It further stated that the broadcast and telecast of all IPL matches and programmes would remain suspended until further notice.
Bangladesh has suspended the broadcast and telecast of all matches and programmes of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the country until further notice.
The decision was taken after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) instructed the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to drop Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from its squad for the upcoming IPL.
“The instruction from the Indian Cricket Board to exclude Bangladeshi star player Mr Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament, scheduled to begin on March 26, 2026, has come to our attention,” the suspension notification, originally issued in Bangla, stated.
The notification said that no clear reason was provided for the decision to exclude the Bangladeshi player and added that the move had “saddened, hurt and angered the people of Bangladesh.”
It further stated that the broadcast and telecast of all IPL matches and programmes would remain suspended until further notice.
