"If you’re really good…”: Saqlain on Team India latest news: Former Pakistan spin bowler Saqlain Mushtaq suggested a multi-format contest between India and Pakistan, consisting of 10 Tests, 10 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, to determine which team is truly superior. He made these remarks after India defeated Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 group stage match in Dubai.
During a panel discussion on 24 News HD Channel, Saqlain Mushtaq said, "If we keep politics aside, their players are very good and have been playing great cricket. If you are really a good team, then let’s play 10 Tests, 10 ODIs, and 10 T20Is against Pakistan—everything will be clear."
He further added, "If we get our preparation right and sort things out in the right direction, we will be in a position to give solid answers to the world and to India as well."
India and Pakistan last played a Test match from December 8 to 12, 2007, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, which ended in a draw. Since then, the two teams have not faced each other in the Test format, with their encounters being limited to shorter formats like One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) due to political tensions.
