North American Punjabi Association condemns attack on NRI in Amritsar: The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) strongly condemned the attack on an NRI in Punjab's Amritsar. The association called the incident "deeply troubling." On Saturday, Sukhchain Singh was shot at by two assailants outside his home in the Daburji village of Amritsar, in front of his family.

Singh, who had recently returned from the United States, was attacked while in the presence of his wife and his two children from a previous marriage. The executive director of NAPA, Satnam Singh Chahal, voiced his concerns in a statement, stressing the seriousness of the incident.

Chahal emphasized that such acts of violence not only harm the victims but also create a sense of fear and insecurity within the diaspora community. He highlighted the importance of safety and respect for NRIs who maintain strong cultural ties and make significant contributions to their home state.

Chahal urged authorities to treat the situation with utmost seriousness to prevent further incidents and restore confidence among the NRI community.

The attack unfolded when two motorcycle-borne assailants approached Singh outside his home, inquiring about the registration documents of his luxury vehicle. Before he could react, the assailants brandished pistols and forced him inside his house, where they fired three shots at him before fleeing the scene.
