The financial loss incurred by the victim in these cases has been estimated at over $38,000 CAD.  

Peel Regional Police have issued an arrest warrant for Jaspal Singh Thiara, a 37-year-old man from Toronto, in connection with the fraudulent sale of tickets for music concerts and sporting events in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).  

Details of the Case  

According to police, an investigation was launched between February and October 2024 after multiple reports of fraud were received. The suspect is alleged to have sold fake tickets to unsuspecting buyers while presenting them as legitimate and originating from reputable ticketing platforms.

Charges Filed  

On November 13, 2024, Peel Regional Police issued an arrest warrant for Thiara on the following charges:  
- Fraud Over $5,000 
- Failing to Comply 

Police noted that Thiara is already on judicial release for similar charges. Given the heightened demand for concert and event tickets in the GTA, authorities believe he may still be targeting additional unsuspecting victims.

Warning to the Public  

Peel Regional Police are urging the public to exercise caution when purchasing event tickets and to verify their legitimacy to avoid becoming victims of such scams.  

Authorities also suspect there may be more victims who have not yet come forward.

Anyone with information about Jaspal Singh Thiara or similar fraudulent activities is encouraged to contact the Fraud Bureauat 905-453-2121 ext. 3335.
