Tragic Suicide Blast rocks Balochistan during weekly Eid prayers, leaving 130 injured & causing widespread devastation
BALOCHISTAN: A Horrific Suicide blast near Al-Falah Masjid in Balochistan Mastung districth as resulted in the loss of 52 lives, with over 130 individuals sustaining injuries, some of them in critical condition. The blast struck during the weekly Eid prayers on Friday, targeting an Eid Milad-un-Nabi rally.
The Explosion occurred close to a mosque where locals had gathered to commemorate the Islamic holiday of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The impact was severe, prompting an immediate declaration of an emergency in all local hospitals, with hospital staff mobilized swiftly. Tragically, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) lost his life in the blast while attempting to avert further casualties.
No entity has claimed responsibility for the explosion as of now. The Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denied involvement through an official statement. Notably, the Pakistan chapter of the Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the last major bomb blast in Mastung. Images and videos circulating after the blast depict a harrowing scene of blood-soaked bodies. Balochistan Interim Information Minister Jan Achakzai confirmed the dispatch of a rescue team to Mastung and emphasized the transportation of seriously injured individuals to Quetta, with an urgent need for medical attention. Emergency measures have been put in place across all hospitals.
In response to this appalling incident, Interim Home Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti strongly condemned the blast, expressing profound sorrow over the significant loss of life. The nation mourns the lives lost and stands united against such senseless acts of violence.
