Uttrakhand: Dehradun Weather Nowcast and Forecast Update
Nowcast: There is currently no weather warning for any districts in Uttarakhand, according to the latest Nowcast issued by IMD Dehradun. This Nowcast remains valid until 12 noon today.
Forecast July 1: However, IMD Dehradun, in its forecast, has placed 11 out of 13 districts under a yellow alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and other weather conditions.
Among these, the two districts under yellow alert with a warning of heavy rain along with thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls are Uttarkashi and Dehradun.
The remaining nine districts under the yellow alert have been warned of thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and associated weather conditions, but not heavy rain.
The sky is expected to remain generally cloudy, and the maximum temperature in Dehradun is likely to hover around 32°C.
No alerts: The two districts with no alerts are Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.
weather observed: In the past 24 hours, Khatima recorded the maximum rainfall in the state at 29.0 mm. The same station also observed the highest maximum temperature in Uttarakhand at 28.5°C. Meanwhile, Mukteshwar reported the lowest minimum temperature, which stood at 14.6°C.
Today, the sun rose at 5:19 AM IST and will set at 7:23 PM IST, while the moon will rise at 11:03 AM IST and set at 11:30 PM IST.
Temperature and Rainfall Outlook for July 2025
According to IMD's national monthly outlook, the monthly average rainfall across India in July 2025 is most likely to remain above normal, exceeding the Long Period Average (LPA). Most parts of the country are expected to witness normal to above-normal rainfall.
However, Northeast and East India, along with many parts of extreme southern peninsular India and some regions of northwest India, are likely to experience below-normal rainfall.
In terms of temperature, the monthly average maximum temperatures in July 2025 are expected to remain normal to below normal in many regions, except in Northeast India, and parts of the northwest, east, and southern peninsula, where they are likely to be above normal.
Meanwhile, above-normal minimum temperatures are likely over Northeast India, many parts of the southern peninsula, and regions of northwest, east, and central India.
