Building Collapses in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh; Rescue Operations Underway
A building collapsed in the Masani Police Station area of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday, prompting swift rescue operations. Circle Officer (CO) City, Bhushan Verma, confirmed the incident to ANI, stating that rescue efforts are currently underway. So far, no casualties have been reported.
Speaking to ANI, CO Bhushan Verma said, “We received information that a building has collapsed under the jurisdiction of Masani Police Station. Debris is currently being cleared. A team from the Municipal Corporation is on site with JCB machines. We are investigating how many people might still be trapped under the debris.”
District Magistrate C.P. Singh, who was present at the site, spoke to ANI and said the administration is focusing on rescuing people who may still be trapped.
“We are at the site of the building collapse. All necessary arrangements have been made at nearby hospitals. NDRF and SDRF teams are en route. Teams from the Fire Brigade and Municipal Corporation are conducting rescue operations. Right now, our priority is the rescue work. The cause of the collapse will be investigated later. At present, we are searching for anyone who may be trapped.”
Authorities are continuing with relief efforts, and further updates are awaited.
