PPCB teams challan 19 vehicles using pressure horns

Punjab Pollution Control Board in its continuous zeal to curb the Noise Pollution has already passed direction for a complete ban on manufacturing, selling, purchase, fit and use of multi-tone horns/ pressure horns and cracker sound emitting silencer on motor cycle from 30/09/2017.

The teams of officers of the Board are making continues effort for strict implementation of these order especially among heavy vehicles.

Taking a further leap ahead, Er. Sandeep Bahl Senior Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Jalandhar supervised the team of various officers from Punjab Pollution Control Board & Traffic Police consisting Sh. Harminder Singh, ACP Traffic, Er. Satyajit Singh Attri, AEE, Er. Jatinder Kumar, AEE of Punjab Pollution Control Board Sh. Ranjit Kumar, Inspector Traffic along with Sh. Manjit ASI and Sh. Jasbir Singh ASI, Traffic.

The teams checked about 85 heavy vehicles mainly Buses of Private Operator and Punjab Roadways & bullet motorcycle and challenged 19 vehicles on the spot for fitting and using pressure horns. During this special checking 2 bullet motorcycle, 7 nos. Punjab Roadways Buses, 10 nos. private Buses and Trucks were challenged.

Er. Sandeep Bahl appealed to the owners of heavy & light vehicles to stop using/ allowing the use of pressure horns in their vehicles as it is very harmful to the general public. He further, said that strict action will be initiated in coming day for violating Laws.
