Punjab School Timings Change Latest News: Punjab Govt Announces Revised School Timings from Oct 1

This adjustment applies to over 19,000 schools across Punjab. 

Punjab School Timings Change Latest News: The Punjab government has announced a change in schools' opening and closing times across the state. Starting October 1, 2024, all government, private, aided, and recognized schools in Punjab will follow new timings.

According to the official order issued by the Punjab Education Department, the revised timings will be as follows:

  • Primary schools: 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM  
  • Middle to senior secondary schools: 8:30 AM to 2:50 PM  

This adjustment applies to over 19,000 schools across Punjab. 

The school timings in Punjab typically change three times during the academic year:

1. From April 1 to September 30: Schools operate from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  
2. From October 1 to October 31: Primary schools will function from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, while middle and senior secondary schools will be open from 8:30 AM to 2:50 PM.  
3. From November 1 to February 28: Primary schools will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and middle to senior secondary schools will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:20 PM.

These adjustments aim to accommodate the seasonal changes and optimize learning hours for students.
