Dsgmc Will Install Tall Bronze Statues Of Baba Baghel Singh, Baba Jassa Singh Ahluwalia And Baba Jassa Singh Ramgarhia...

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has decided to install tall statues of Baba Baghel Singh, Baba Jassa Singh Ahluwalia and Baba Jassa Singh Ramgarhia. These statues are being made up of  bronze. The three Sikh Generals have a great history about which people specially the youth has little knowledge. It is worth mentioning here that under the leadership of Baba Baghel Singh, Baba Jassa Singh Ahluwalia, Baba Jassa Singh Ramgarhia and other Sikh Jarnails had conquered the Red Fort by defeating Mughal Emperor Shah Alam-II on 11th March 1783.  It was the victory of native Indians over foreign invaders which was widely welcomed by Indians.

It may sound very interesting that many sites in Delhi are witness to this victory e.g. Tis Hazari Court where 30,000 horsemen of Sikh army had camped,  Pul Mithai where Sikh soldiers used to distribute sweets to public, Mori Gate name given after Sikh soldiers made a hole in the wall of Red Fort to enter in. Sikh forces stayed in Delhi for 10 months. Baba Baghel Singh identified & established all the historical Gurdwara Sahibs in Delhi e.g. Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib etc.
