Chandigarh, August 23: State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Sub Inspector posted at CIA, Ferozepur red handed for accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000.  Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Sub Inspector Om Parkash Handa posted at CIA Ferozepur was nabbed red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from complainant Pala Singh resident of Basti Amrik Singh Wali, Ferozepur district.

The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above accused has been demanding Rs. 15000 to release his motorcycle confiscated by police. He said that after persuasion the Sub Inspector has agreed to take Rs. 10,000 for the same.  After verifying his information,

the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused sub inspector was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ferozepur and further investigation was under progress.
