SPOKESMAN NEWS SERVICE: CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 22: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has extended warm greetings to people across the globe on the auspicious occasion of 549th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.

In his message on the eve of Gurpurb, the Chief Minister said this year’s Guru Nanak Jayanti marked a momentous occasion as the state government would embark on a year-long journey on this day to celebrate the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in November next year.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister exhorted the people to embrace the ideology propounded by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in its true spirit. The message of love, compassion, equality, peace and brotherhood that Guru Ji promoted all his life holds extreme relevance even today and the year-long celebrations will help in disseminating the same among the youth, in particular, said Captain Amarinder.

Let us on this day, vow to come together in the spirit of harmony and humility, as preached by the great Guru, to create a peaceful and equitable society, said the Chief Minister.
