Chandigarh Jail Administration Grants Bail Following Court Approval in Former Punjab CM's Assassination
CHANDIGARH: Shamsher Singh, a convict in the infamous murder case of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, was released from Burail jail on Thursday, subsequent to being granted bail by CJM Dr. Aman Inder Singh Sandhu's court.
Notably, The case has witnessed a series of releases with two other accused, Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakha and Gurmeet Singh, already being granted bail by the jail administration in compliance with the Punjab and Haryana High Court's orders on May 10 and June 2 respectively. It's worth noting that Shamsher Singh, a resident of Patiala, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a special CBI court in August 2007. The case has seen multiple convictions over the years.*
