Tarn Taran Police Commends Heroic Act as ASI Balwinder Singh Thwarts Armed Robbers
TARN TARAN: Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Balwinder Singh, hailed as a local hero for displaying remarkable bravery during a daylight robbery attempt at the State Bank of India branch in Dhotian village, Tarn Taran, has been rewarded for his courageous act. In recognition of his valor, Balwinder Singh has been promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspector, an accolade bestowed upon him by the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav.
DGP Gaurav Yadav commended ASI Balwinder Singh for his exceptional courage while on duty, making the announcement via a tweet, praising the officer's gallantry in thwarting the armed robbers. The incident transpired when four armed assailants attempted to rob the bank and fired at ASI Balwinder Singh, who was present at the scene. Despite sustaining injuries, Balwinder Singh fearlessly confronted the robbers, preventing the robbery from being successful.
The Incident was captured by the bank's CCTV cameras, providing crucial evidence for further investigations. Upon being notified of the attempted robbery, Vishaljit Singh, SP Investigation of Tarn Taran Police, promptly arrived at the location with his team. The CCTV footage aided in identifying and tracking the robbers involved.
Following the incident, ASI Balwinder Singh was swiftly admitted to a hospital for necessary medical treatment. Forensic experts conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene and collected crucial samples. Police investigations have revealed that the perpetrators had meticulously planned and surveilled the bank before executing the robbery attempt.
