Suggests expansion in activities under corporate social responsibility

Chandigarh : Exhorting upon the corporate entities to play a proactive role and take up sustainable initiatives under the Corporate Social Responsibility, Environment Minister, Punjab, Mr. Om Prakash Soni asked the administrators of Ambuja Cement Factory to expand the activities under CSR. During the visit to Ambuja Cement factory in Lodhi Majra at Ropar ,

the Environment Minister along with his team of officials of Punjab Pollution Control Board, inspected the factory and asked the management to strictly adhere to pollution norms.He told the administrators that “It is Time to Give Back to Society”. He appreciated their ongoing activities and asked them to initiate more of such activities that can largely contribute in improving the quality of life.

Suggesting greater plantation activities in the areas adjoining the factory, the Minister went on to say that an act of adoption of a school by them would go a long way in equipping the young boys and girls with quality educational infrastructure.
