CHANDIGARH: The National Conference of the National Counseling of State Agriculture Marketing Board took place in Goa today, resulting in the election of Harchand Singh Burst, the Chairman of Punjab Board Mandi and an AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) leader, as the National Chairman of COSAMB in the general body meeting. Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced the appointment of 13 chairmen of the Market Committee a few months ago.

Among the names on the list was Harchand Singh Burst, who was designated as the Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board and currently serves as the State General Secretary of AAP. Burst has been a dedicated member of the Aam Aadmi Party for a significant period, having been appointed as the state general secretary in September 2020.

Notably, both prior to and after the Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections, Harchand Singh Burst has played a crucial role in recruiting numerous leaders and workers into the AAP party. He has frequently addressed the media in press conferences covering a wide range of topics. Moreover, a separate room was allotted to him at the AAP party headquarters in Chandigarh, where he has been actively involved for an extended duration.

With Harchand Singh Burst's election as the National Vice-Chairman of COSAMB, his influence within the agricultural marketing sector is set to grow. The appointment signifies the trust and confidence placed in Burst's leadership capabilities and his dedication to the welfare of farmers and agricultural development.
