In a major achievement dedicated to efficient governance and quality public service, the Punjab government has been honoured with the Technology Sabha Excellence Award 2025 in the Data Analytics category. This prestigious award highlights Punjab's commitment to utilising technology for effective governance. The award was received by D.K. Tewari, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Good Governance and Information Technology, at a grand ceremony organised by the Indian Express Group in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Punjab’s recognition for excellence in data analytics demonstrates the government’s proactive approach to transforming governance. Rather than merely speaking about good governance, the state is implementing it through cutting-edge data-driven practices. The award marks a significant milestone in Punjab’s journey towards more efficient administration, enhanced accountability, and responsive public services. It further reinforces the vision of “Rangla Punjab”—a prosperous and vibrant Punjab—driven by technology and innovation for the welfare of its citizens.

In another major initiative aimed at improving service delivery, the Punjab government has introduced the mSewa app for digital attendance tracking in the offices of the Registrar Cooperative Societies and other major cooperative institutions. This move, under the Department of Good Governance and Information Technology, aims to ensure transparency, monitor employee attendance, and optimise resource allocation.

The pilot phase of this digital attendance system will run for one month, after which full implementation will begin from September 1, 2025. By recording staff check-ins and check-outs in real time, the mSewa app is expected to eliminate irregularities and enhance administrative efficiency across departments.

With these initiatives, Punjab continues to set benchmarks in digital governance and public service delivery, strengthening its position as a national leader in tech-enabled governance reforms.
