BSF has initiated investigation into the matter
AMRITSAR: The Border security forces have foiled two attempts by Pakistani smugglers. The BSF shot down two Pakistani drones at Indo-Pak border. A consignment of heroin have also recovered. A search operation is being conducted in the area after the drone was found.
According to the information received, the first drone was seen hovering near village Dhariwal at 8:55 pm on Friday, after which the jawans started firing. The sound of the drone stopped during the firing. When the location was searched, the drone was recovered from the area. Another drone has been found in Ratan Khurd area. The Soldiers heard the sound of the drone at 9:55 pm, after which they opened fire at it. During the search, the drone was found from the fields.
Notably, A consignment of 2 Kgs of heroin has also been recovered from the drones piled up in Ratan Khurd area. Currently, BSF has taken possession of the consignment and started investigation in the matter. The value of the seized consignment in the international market is said to be Rs 15 crore. The BSF said that both the drones listed are of the same type. This quadcopter is a DJI Matrice 300 RTK, which is used by smugglers to bring small and light weight consignments across the border.
