Applications to be submitted till 31st december

Spokesman News Service: Chandigarh, December 19: The Union Ministry for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has extended the last date for submitting application for ‘National Water Awards-2018’. Now the applications can be submitted till 31st December, 2018. 

Disclosing this, a spokesman of the Punjab Government said that now those Government organisations, NGOs or the individuals have made significant contributions towards water conservation as well as management, are eligible to submit applications for different categories till 31st December, 2018.

Earlier the last date for submitting the applications was 30th November, 2018. Adding more, the spokesman said that under the National Water Awards-2018, the awards pertaining to Best State, Best District, Best Municipal Corporation/Council, Best Panchayat, Best TV Show and Newspaper would be given. For the purpose of submitting applications concerning these awards, the Central Ground Water Board has been made the Nodal agency.

For more information the websites www.mowr.gov.in or www.cgwb.gov.in can be accessed. The spokesman also said that the rationale behind these awards is to spread awareness regarding the conservation of water which is the most precious bounty bestowed by nature on the mankind.
